Setting Up My Vintage Spring Brunch

Last month I got to host a spring brunch for my friends. I love to play hostess because it's an excuse to take out all the pretty glass and serving wear and to decorate with crepe paper and other bits and bobs. For this occasion, I took out my lace tablecloth and polished the silver service. I took my spring china set out of the cabinet as well. I love the hints of green, pink, and purple. When I entertain, I try to do as much the day or two before as possible. A couple of days before I clean the house really good. The day before, I decorate, pull the serving dishes, and do all my baking and prep work. This way, the day of I can enjoy the party and make sure I look presentable. Since I was expecting a large crown, I set up my brunch to be served buffet style but with the coffee already at the table for ease of service. I set up my buffet table with a vintage tablecloth and then all my dishes on top for my guests to grab and serve themselves.

To set up for the occasion, I chose to wear an easy shirtwaist dress and a vintage green checked apron. I love a good shirtwaist dress! So easy to wear especially when I have a lot to do - clean the house, set up the dishes, prep the food, etc, etc. Next time I will show you the final brunch! Today was all about the set up.
