Reflecting on 2023

This has been an interesting year that, for me, had an underlying theme of starting over and starting afresh. To start, I think the biggest change was that I started a totally new blog. I thought it was time to start over and embrace the way my life is now. Life changes, I changed, and I wanted my blog to change with me. I thought it was simply time for something new. So, using my stage name as my inspiration, I started a new journey. It has felt so good to start over. This post is about my year in review and really, I not sure where to start! 1940s Summer Florals

One day at a time I am getting back into blogging and modeling again. Here is another crack at it in a dress that I am sure you have seen many, many times before. This time I paired it with white gloves and shoes and a large paper parasol. The necklace is a German glass beaded item that I thought just went with the look.

Experimenting with a Lady Marlow Pattern

Way back at the start of this year I chose to experiment with a Lady Marlow pattern to use this bold and bright print from Telalinda. You may remember from last year I used a portion of this print to make a skirt out of. I loved the print enough to make a dress out of it and this is it. I used a pattern with amazing pleating at the center front but otherwise had limited detailing because I wanted the print to shine. I knew too that too busy or fussy of a pattern would mean any details would be lost in the print. Personally, I love this combination of the pattern and fabric. I was happy with this new pattern company however not all patterns come in multi sizing. This pattern only came in one size, and I had to adjust it to suit my measurements. The pattern came in a timely fashion and on good quality paper. The pattern was easy to work with and I would buy from this company again.
