I love my silly little hats, especially when they have flowers like this 1940s tilt hat. This unique floral tricorn is made of a green straw and trimmed with little white flowers and foliage. I had to have it when I saw it because it was just so . . .Darn cute! I mean, it's a floral tricorn! To style this hat, I chose to think spring and went with pink and yellow. This pink 1940s suit is one of my favorites for spring, but it wrinkles so much (and it's not even all linen, although possibly a blend) and then over top is my standby yellow clutch coat in wool. White gloves and heels complete the look.
When I was on social media I would get ripped on all the time for wrinkles on my clothes. Well, that is what happens to clothes when they get worn. Often, I take my photos when I get home after a day of being out and about. . .I seldom take them before. So that means these clothes have been in and out of places, I have sat in them, stood in them, and have also more than likely bent down in them to pick something up. Clothes get wrinkled, if that surprises then I don't know what to say . . . I don't carry a miniature iron with me in the purse. If wrinkles bother you . . . Then God help you when you look in a mirror.
It should no longer surprise me what people will comment on social media. It amazes me the unrealistic standards some people have and, in this age, are we not aware of the use of photoshop? Are we not aware that it is used to create a false impression of reality? How did we come to accept whitewashed, photoshopped images as true? How did we get to the point of being offended of wrinkles on clothes? Do we no longer think they can exist simply because they can be photoshopped out? When did ultimate perfection become the goal?
I do not use photoshop to alter my photos however I will use a filter to get a black and white or sepia photo but that is it. I do not edit out my wrinkled clothes or the scuffs on my shoes. I do not photoshop my makeup, hair, or my body shape. On my corner of the internet, what you see is what you would get if you really did meet me in person.
