The Inspiration for My Red, White, and Blue Capsule Wardrobe

 

This is a special year for the country that I call home, it is the 250th anniversary! To have some fun with it and to celebrate it in my own way, I decided to make up a capsule wardrobe using the colors of red, white, and blue! To start, I combed the internet for some inspiration to get the creative juices flowing. In addition to looking at period imagery, I also went through my own wardrobe to pick and choose pieces that I thought embraced the spirit of the celebration and the theme. I wanted to use only what I had in my wardrobe and thanks to years of collection, I had a lot to choose from - from jewelry to suits to dresses. In the initial planning, I had lots of planned outfits. So many in fact that I decided to break this project up into two parts - my winter capsule wardrobe and my spring/ summer capsule wardrobe. For now, here is my inspiration! Enjoy!
