Upon a special request. I had a reader kindly ask for an apron pattern I shared a long time ago on my old blog. Here it is once again for you. This pattern is actually more of a diagram based off an original apron in my collection. What I did was I pressed the original and laid it out on a piece of paper and traced it the best that I could. If you are interested in making this one for yourself, you can using a few basic measurements.
You will need the measurement for the length - measure from your chest down to about your knees - that is the apron length. That will give you the approximate length of the body and skirt of your apron. Next, the ties - that is all up to you on how long you want them. I think the hardest part will be the neck strap that goes over your head to keep the apron in place. I have offered a rough diagram of that piece only. Happy Sewing and let me know if you do make this one up. Materials? Cotton would be best I think but it's your apron, so you have the joy of making up any way you want. I used a vintage cotton adding little tucks and a bias cut ruffle to finish the edges.
Cut the body of the apron on the fold like indicated in the diagram. To finish the edges, a narrow hem works best or else go nuts with a trim of your choice.
