A Pink Shirtwaist Styled with a Collar

 

I love this pink shirtwaist dress! I bought it this summer and I have worn it about once a week since getting it. When it was time to wash it, I made a most unfortunate discovery. After I pulled it from the wash, I found that the collar had faded to white! I was crushed. The rest of the dress was fine, it was just the collar that had made an unfortunate demise. Crushed, I contacted the place I bought it from with photos and a description. I'll be honest, I did not expect anything to happen. I was frustrated, disappointed, and really just wanted to vent. What happened went above my wildest expectations. The company gave me a full refund on the item with an apology. I was impressed and knew that Revival Vintage UK was new favorite place to shop. I have to admit, they really do stand by their product. 

What to do with the dress! They let me keep the dress and I knew I had to do something with it. I first went through my collar box; I was hoping that I could cover the fade with a clever accessory and that I would have something that would work. Luck was on my side because I had the perfect collar to solve my dilemma. I chose this collar that you see now. It happened to be the perfect fit, and it had a very close matching floral motif to the dress. I think the collar works beautifully. Not only does it solve my problem of a faded collar but the collar gives it a more authentic vibe and it sets it apart from the other pink shirtwaists too. It makes it more mine. 

I still love this dress and I plan on wearing it just as much going forward. I still plan on shopping from Revival Vintage UK as well. I was so pleased with how they accepted the issue and didn't try to play the blame game like many companies will do. Customer for life is all I can say.
