Picnic Look!

Picnic! Later on in the summer I took a day to see some family at a little picnic. For the occasion I chose to wear a light blue floral printed rayon dress. I made this one last winter but this was the first real event to wear it. The lace at the neckline was a last minute add on because the neckline was deeper than I would have really liked. The pattern was an Eva Dress pattern that comes in one size. I really liked the lines of the dress so when I bought the patten and started to make it up I had to take it in quite a bit. It is still a bit big bit not too terribly so. A white leather belt cinches it in really well. With it, a large black wool hat and black birdcage sandals from BAIT footwear.

This is a nice easy, beginner friendly pattern and I would highly recommend it to someone learning to sew or who is looking for a nice, easy pattern to work with. It is one size only so make sure to pay attention to that unless you are o.k. with taking it in (or letting it out). I would say as patterns go, this is a fairly simple one to adjust if you are not used to it. Some features of this look are the shoulder yokes which the bodice front gathers into and the shaped panels of the skirt. Overall, this is a nice, simple, and figure flattering dress and one I have made up twice already.

As for the main accessory for this look, yes. . .the picnic basket is vintage as well!
