1943 Wrap Dress

Does this dress look familiar? Well it should because I liked it enough to make it my cover shot. This wrap dress is made from a 1943 wrap dress pattern from Eva Dress patterns and the material is a dead stock rayon print in a pastel floral. I am becoming quite fond of these wrap dresses; they are effortless to wear and so easy to make. So far this is the second attempt at making this pattern and I suspect that there will be many more makes of this pattern in the future.

The tilt hat I am wearing with this look is an original 40s piece and it is classically 40s too. It is one of those little tilt hats that perches on the head leaning towards the front of the face more than the back of the head. These tilt hats did not hold much purpose beyond being charming and decorative items. The beaded necklace is from Wars End Shop, it is a dainty beaded German necklace and so lovely and so delicate! I thought it was the perfect finishing touch.
