A Ruby Red 1940s Evening Gown

What can be more glamourous than a deep ruby red? This 1940s rayon crepe evening gown was the first evening gown I ever purchased. I have not worn it for years but during a photoshoot I decided why not try it on, just to see if it still fit. It did! Taking advantage of the opportunity, photos were taken. I still cannot believe after about 7 years I can still get into it.

For this wearing, I wanted something dark and moody. So, I choose chocolate brown gloves and mink coat. The coat was a beautiful and exciting find from Vivaciouslady Vintage a couple years ago. It's one of my favorite coats. The gloves were found at a local charity shop and were an absolute impulse buy. Sometimes I get tired of wearing the long white evening gloves so these long chocolate ones are a great secondary option. I know a white long glove is technically the standard for evening wear, but I think some rules can be broken.
