Sweet Dreams in a 1940s Nightgown

I give you something truly different this time, a sewing project of mine from a long time ago. A liquid satin nightgown I made with an Eva Dress Patterns pattern. This nightgown was so simple and easy to make that I have already made more than one of these. If you are learning to sew and want something simple to start with, nightgowns like these are perfect, no one will see them out in public and they usually use only the simplest of stitches. You can use any fabric you like really from easy to sew cottons to more complex and slippery satins. The choice is truly yours.

For this little photoshoot, I chose a 1930s marabou feathered bed jacket, one of the most glamourous pieces of at home wear I own. It is in a soft powder blue. For footwear, ivory satin slippers with lavish beadwork at the toe.

  1. Pretty gown and pretty pictures. I also like the colour of the sateen a lot.
